The Police in Anambra, on Thursday said they had captured a youngster for purportedly taking a lady’s clothing for ceremonial purposes.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Haruna Mohammed, a Superintendent of Police, said in Awka that the suspect, 19, was secured on January 11 in Onitsha.

“On January 11, 2019, at about 6.48 a.m., Police analysts joined to Central Police Station, Onitsha, captured the suspect of Ogbaku in Mbaitolu Local Government Area of Imo.

“The speculate purportedly stole a female underwear washed and spread on a rope at 21, Umuna Street, Odoakpu, Onitsha in Anambra State,” Mohammed said.

He said that the speculate intended to pitch the clothing to a yet-to-be-recognized people at N80,000 for supposed ceremonial purposes.

He said that the clothing was recuperated from the suspect as display, including that endeavors were being strengthened to secure other escaping assistants in the episode.
